Welcome to NAIFF Maryland!

NAIFF – Nepal America International Film Festival 2024, presented by the Nepal America Film Society, is scheduled to take place from June 20-23 at the AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center and Greenbelt Cinema in Maryland.  

Secure your tickets and passes with various package options to join us for this exciting film festival. Guarantee your seat by booking tickets and passes online before the festival dates to ensure availability. Alternatively, passes, granting access to all festival events, may be available for purchase at the theater’s entrance. Individual film screening tickets are also available for purchase.

Opening Night Celebration | A Road to a Village by Nabin Subba

Join us for the grand opening of NAIFF Maryland featuring a Red Carpet event followed by the screening of the opening film, A Road to a Village” by Nabin Subba.

The opening ceremony promises an unforgettable evening with a Red Carpet affair, VIP Photoshoots, and opportunities for a meet-and-greet. Esteemed guests from embassies, cultural organizations, and other distinguished institutions will be in attendance, helping us inaugurate the festival in style. Get ready for introductions to featured artists, filmmakers, community leaders, entrepreneurs, and other special guests, all gathered to support this remarkable event.

The festival will culminate with a Red Carpet event, followed by the Closing and Award Ceremony that will feature the screening of the closing film, “The Red Suitcase” by Fidel Devkota. This special ceremony will also honor exceptional films as judged by our esteemed juries and recognize all participating films. Finally, certificates and tokens of appreciation will be presented to our dedicated volunteers and supporters whose contributions have made this festival possible.

Delight in the diversity of storytelling, as we showcase films from the Global Peace Film Festival Florida in our Special Sidebar Section, and a selection of gems from the Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia area in our DMV Close-up Section.

Join us for a Master Class on Ethnographic and Participatory Filmmaking led by Michael Brown, Professor of Creative Industries within the Faculty of Business and Creative Industries at the University of South Wales, UK.

Engage in lively conversations at our panel discussions, where the audience can interact with filmmakers and artists in an informal setting over coffee and treats. The panel discussion sessions, as in previous years, are hosted in partnership with The Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission. Admission to these enriching sessions is free, but prior confirmation is required.

If you’re traveling from outside the United States, Dulles International Airport is the nearest fly-in option. BWI Airport and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport are more convenient for domestic flights.

Please note:

  1. AFI Silver is within walking distance from Silver Spring Station and serves as a stop on the Red Line of the Washington Metro and the Brunswick Line of the MARC Train commuter rail system.
  2. Greenbelt Cinema is located near Greenbelt Metro station, also a Washington Metro and MARC station.

Whether you are driving or using public transportation, both venues offer free and paid parking options for your convenience.
