SYNOPSIS

‘Singha Durbar’ or, Madam Prime Minister TV series produced by Search for Common Ground is Nepal’s take on collaborative leadership and good governance. The TV series aired on 15th November, 2015 from Nepal Television, and presented the story of Nepal’s first female Prime Minister, and her quest to establish an inclusive and democratic governance system. The 13-episode TV series depicted various socio-political issues ranging from – violence against women and girls, education and employment, food security, youth and politics, and the importance of local elections, etc. The TV series has been regarding as one of the best Behaviour Change Communications (BCC) model in influencing positive behaviour towards governance through evidence-based messaging, and real-life scenarios. The TV series embraces a strong sentiment of women’s leadership and has also been dubbed as a champion in heralding a discussion of women’s leadership in all levels of decision making. According to the latest viewership survey, the TV series has been viewed by 6.67 million people.
